As you log events/activity/chat history indefinitely, you end up needing to implement some tricks to keep it running well and efficiently. comes down to how much data will end up piling up and what you want to do with it. it can get quite complicated in some cases. but basic chat history of the last week or last thousand messages isnt a big lift.
