High latency

Hello. Currently our latency is around 2-3 times what it says on our dashboard. Dashboard says 950ms and we are getting 2-3 second delays. We aren't using any functions just prompt and knowledge base. Any fix to this?

Hi @josh, I'm an AI assistant for Vapi. I'll analyze available sources and get back to you shortly.

### Answer High latency issues can arise from various factors, including server locations, load balancing, or configuration settings. Here are a few points to consider: 1. **Server Locations and Load Balancing**: Vapi servers are geographically distributed and optimized for low latency. Geo load balancing should help with latency issues, but make sure your setup aligns with these optimizations [(1)]() . 2. **Configuration Settings**: Check the settings for silence timeout and response delay, as incorrect configurations can also lead to delays. You can adjust these settings to improve performance [(2)]() . 3. **Dashboard Metrics**: Ensure that the latency metrics shown on the dashboard are accurate and up-to-date. Sometimes, there can be discrepancies between the dashboard and actual performance [(1)]() . If you have already checked these and still face issues, it may be worth investigating the specific conditions under which the latency spikes occur.

Are you using 11labs?
j
Yes. The issue I had with the voice not working has been resolved, but the latency is still an issue.

can you send me the call_id pls?

Checking.
@josh You can check in the log what's causing the issue it seems that groq is currently on heavy load due to which it is slow.
