@Chowderrthen I don't doubt that, as you say, it depends on the purpose and context but I think to take orders for a pizza with a robotic voice I don't need a tool like VAPI which I hope has other aspirations. In general, there is very little trust here in automated systems because they are either used disproportionately ( more to waste your time and avoid really providing support or service) or are objectively of very poor quality.
