How long will you still support the functionality ...

I heard you are eliminating them and their functionality. How long will the functions (and therefore the code) still work ? I need to know exactly, as I am in the midst of testing and cannot have a longer server downtime to test integrating Tools instead of functions.

@Johannes I'm happy to clarify this for you. As of now, there is no official information about eliminating functions or their functionality. You can continue your testing and integration without concern for unexpected server downtime related to such changes. If there are any updates or scheduled changes in the future, we will ensure to communicate them well in advance to allow for a smooth transition. Please continue with your work, and if you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.

Lol, you are fine
Plus its backwards compatible...
j
Thanks ! So no need to change the code?
c
No, but I mean a tool is literally the same as a function with a few more lines.
I wold just move to tool anyway.
j
My system seems pretty fragil and I need it to work - or what are the advantageous of tools?
c
Most likely becuase you have read not read docs.
s
Hye did you tried mirgrating to tools with the help of docs?
j
No time.
I am working with functions, and if they dont work anymore, I'll stop using vapi.
c
No time to look at the docs?
j
No time to read, undersand and adopt 🙂
c
I mean they are following OpenAI, which also does not use functions - also its so it can work better. Sure you may be trolling, but wish you the best 🙂
