Hello! I have bought a virtual number from vapi itself and when I call it sounds in the background as if it were a call center with people talking at a not very high volume, but it is annoying. Any idea how to solve that?
v
@A.Peralta Hello! It sounds like there might be an issue with the audio configuration for your virtual number. To resolve this, we can check the settings for your virtual number to ensure that no background noise or sound effects are enabled. If everything seems correct and the issue persists, it may be necessary to reach out to the support team for further assistance. Would you like me to guide you through checking the settings, or would you prefer to contact support directly for more help on this?
You can continue this conversation by mentioning me in the message.

@Vapi Let's try to get you to guide me
v
@A.Peralta Great! Let's start by checking the settings for your virtual number. Here are the steps we can take: 1. Log in to your VAPI account. 2. Navigate to the dashboard where your virtual numbers are listed. 3. Select the virtual number that is experiencing the issue. 4. Review the settings to ensure there are no background noises or call center effects enabled. 5. If you find such settings, disable them and save the changes. 6. Test the number again to see if the issue is resolved. If you're not sure how to navigate the settings or if the problem persists after making changes, please let me know, and I can provide further assistance or direct you to support for more help.

@Vapi I need further assistence, i can't finde where are the phone number settings
v
@A.Peralta No problem at all! Let's go through the steps to find the phone number settings: 1. Log in to your VAPI account. 2. Once you're on the dashboard, look for the section that lists your virtual numbers. 3. Click on the virtual number that you're having issues with to access its detail page. 4. On the phone number detail page, you should see various configuration options for your number. This is where you can configure settings related to call handling, voicemail, call forwarding, and any additional features that might be causing the background noise. If you're still unable to locate the settings or if the options are not clear, it might be best to reach out to VAPI support for detailed guidance. They can walk you through the process and help identify the cause of the background noise you're experiencing. Would you like me to provide you with the contact information for VAPI support?
a
@Vapi can you be more specific on point 2?
v
@A.Peralta Certainly! Here's a more detailed explanation for step 2: 1. Log in to your VAPI account using your credentials. 2. Once you're logged in, you'll be directed to the main dashboard. This is the central hub where you can manage all your VAPI services. Look for a menu item or tab that says "Numbers," "Manage Numbers," "My Numbers," or something similar. This is typically where all the phone numbers associated with your account are listed. If you're having trouble finding this section, it might be labeled differently depending on the interface design. Look for any menu items that could relate to phone numbers or services. Sometimes it might be under "Services," "Voice," or "Telephony" sections. Once you find the right section, you should see a list of all the virtual numbers you have purchased. From there, you can select the number with the background noise issue to access its specific settings. If this still doesn't help, or if the interface is not intuitive, please let me know, and we can explore alternative ways to assist you.

@Vapi When i enter the dashboard on the left menu i only see, OVERVIEW, PLATFORM, VOICE LIBRARY AND CALL LOGS. The only place where i can see my phone number is inside platform. And when i click on it there is no options. Only INBOUND SETTINGS and the select od the ASSISTANT
v
@A.Peralta Thank you for providing more details. It seems like you're in the right area but may need to look into the "Inbound Settings" to adjust any configurations that could be causing the background noise. Here's what you can do next: 1. Click on "Platform" from the left menu in your dashboard. 2. Within the "Platform" section, locate your phone number and click on it. 3. You should now see the "Inbound Settings" for your selected phone number. 4. In the "Inbound Settings," check if there is an option to modify any audio settings or if there's a pre-configured setting that might be adding the background noise. 5. Also, check the selected "Assistant" to ensure it's not configured to play any background sounds during calls. If you're still unable to find the source of the background noise or if the settings don't provide a clear way to remove it, it might be a technical issue that requires support intervention. In that case, I would recommend reaching out to VAPI support for a more in-depth look into your account and the specific configuration of your virtual number. Would you like to proceed with contacting support, or is there anything else I can assist you with at this moment?
a
@Vapi there is no option to do that: In the "Inbound Settings," check if there is an option to modify any audio settings or if there's a pre-configured setting that might be adding the background noise.
v
@A.Peralta I apologize for the inconvenience. It seems that the issue you're experiencing might not be resolvable through the standard user interface options available to you. Since there is no visible option to modify audio settings or background noise in the "Inbound Settings," the next step would be to contact VAPI support for further assistance. The support team will have the necessary tools and access to look into your account settings in more detail and help you resolve the background noise issue with your virtual number. Would you like me to guide you on how to contact VAPI support, or is there anything else I can assist you with before you reach out to them?
a
@Vapi yes please guide me on how to contact VAPI support
v
@A.Peralta Certainly! To contact VAPI support, you can send an email to their support team with a detailed description of the issue you're facing. Here's how you can do that: 1. Open your email client or webmail service. 2. Compose a new email. 3. In the "To" field, enter the support email address: [support@vapi.ai](support@vapi.ai). 4. In the subject line, write something clear and concise, like "Issue with Background Noise on Virtual Number." 5. In the body of the email, provide a detailed description of the issue. Include any steps you've already taken to try to resolve the problem and mention that you were unable to find audio settings in the "Inbound Settings." 6. If possible, include the virtual number in question and any relevant account information (but avoid sending sensitive information like passwords). 7. Send the email. Once the support team receives your email, they will review the details and get back to you with further instructions or questions to help resolve the issue. If you need any more help or have additional questions, feel free to ask. Otherwise, I hope your issue gets resolved quickly!
