On outgoing calls when the other side is responding and the phone may ring or go thru various menus...i can hear that the agent starts speaking at the same time that the phone is ringing. Does the AI recognize that it is ringing on the other side?

this is IVR menu, and bot will respond to IVR menu because voice is converted to text and then bot responds.
you have to handle ivr menu by yourself.
