Currently, the VAPI does not offer a direct function to pause a call within the Web SDK. However, you can manage the call flow on your end by muting the audio or stopping the media stream temporarily. If you need more advanced control or have specific requirements, please ask support for more info on this.

Our users asked us for a button to pause a call in case of a distraction (for example a UPS delivery etc.). I'm not sure if the solution proposed by the Support Bot (setMuted(true)) is actually the way to go and if it would stop the call from proceeding

@User ofc. it's fine if during the pause VAPI is still counting the duration for billing. I'm not sure how to archieve that tho.
btw. the "ask for help" button does not work.

yes your right you can mute the assistant but can't stop processing, and as of now it's not possible.
