To be honest tool calls are fine. I have the same response I said yesterday. "If you are having problems with tool calls, it's kind of a "you" error. Tool calls work with any model. Switching to 01 does not mean it will be better. I bet when it's out in the API people are still going to say they are having problem with tool calls. Plus structured data would fix that.
