Your SIP endpoint with authorization?

Hello Vapi Team #1211483291191083018 We are in the process of integrating our SIP routing servers with your endpoints. According to your documentation, the SIP endpoints can be used without authentication. Recently, it worked as a workaround to simply fill the “Authorization” header in the SIP INVITE message with meaningful but provided data to establish the call. Currently, “Wrong Credentials” is now sent back. If the “Authorization” header is omitted, as per the VAPI documentation, “403 Forbidden” is returned. Is this an error or to what extent does the configuration need to be changed? Thank you very much!

@Marcel It sounds like there may have been a change in the authentication requirements for SIP endpoints. While our documentation states that SIP endpoints can be used without authentication, the behavior you're experiencing suggests that authentication might now be necessary. To resolve this issue, please ensure that your SIP routing servers are configured to handle authentication properly if it's required. You might need to update your configuration to include valid credentials for the SIP INVITE messages. If you've already tried this and are still facing issues, it's possible that there could be an error or a recent change in the system that hasn't been reflected in the documentation yet. In this case, I would recommend reaching out to our support team for more detailed assistance. They can provide you with the most up-to-date information on the authentication requirements for SIP endpoints and help troubleshoot any issues you're encountering. Would you like me to assist you in contacting support or is there anything else I can help you with regarding your SIP integration?
Got it. Tagging @User for additional help.
