yeah if I understand you right. I asked this same question...is VAPI using Vector database or are they just inserting the whole knwoledge base inside the prompt. I assumed the later since Knowledge base is really bad in VAPI. I assume based on ur finding that is correct. Im guessing toools like vapi and bland dont implement VBs due to latency or other challeges it might bring
