Hi all, Automatic Language Detection is available with Deepgram. Do you know if we can use it with Vapi? Can we use this? -> To use Multilingual Code-Switching, you can simply include it in your API request using the language=multi parameter along with the Nova-2 model. This will allow the system to transcribe audio that contains or switches between multiple languages, thanks!!!

@zamzam Hello! Yes, Vapi does support multilingual capabilities, and you can indeed use Automatic Language Detection with it. To utilize Multilingual Code-Switching with Vapi, you can include the
language=multi
parameter in your API request, as you've mentioned. This will enable the system to transcribe audio that contains multiple languages or switches between them. If you're using Deepgram as your LLM provider, make sure to specify the Nova-2 model in your request to ensure compatibility with the multilingual feature. If you need further assistance or have any more questions, feel free to ask!

Hey @zamzam set
codeSwitchingEnabled
to true and then it will work the way your expecting it to use. After enabling it, you have to instruct the assistant to generate response in user language and use 11labs mutliingual voice which supports possible language user can spoke in. If you have any more questions do let me know.
c
it seems to only support spanish and french right now? Specifically, Arabic and Japanese dont seem to work
even though the documentation mentions 21 languages in codeswitching

Hey @clumsy.ninja can you create a new support ticket for your issue and use the following template. - The call ID - When exactly this happened (the timestamp) - What response you expected to get - What response you actually got instead This would really help me figure out what went wrong!
