I’m working on crafting a highly detailed prompt for an AI assistant, ensuring it avoids unnecessary or redundant interactions. For example, if a customer signals the end of the conversation—saying something like, “Okay, thanks for the information,” and clearly indicating they’re ready to conclude—the assistant should simply acknowledge this and end the call professionally. However, I’m struggling with scenarios where the assistant continues to unnecessarily extend the conversation, such as: Customer: “No, everything’s fine, I don’t need anything else.” Assistant: “Alright, but if you ever need help, let me know.” Customer: “No, really, I’m good.” Assistant: “Okay, if anything else comes up, feel free to ask.” How do you design prompts or instructions to ensure the assistant clearly recognizes when the conversation should end and avoids repetitive or redundant responses like this? Any tips or examples would be greatly appreciated!

Hey @AiCallYu_JuanS. To help track down this issue, could you share: - The call ID - When exactly this happened (the timestamp) - What response you expected to get - What response you actually got instead This would really help me figure out what went wrong, and for prompting we have our prompting guide https://docs.vapi.ai/prompting-guide it will be help you but with call it will be easier for me to help more better.

I guess this wouldn’t be helpful for you as the agent is talking in German and not an English and I don’t know why I should send you a call ID when it’s not referring to wanting a call but in general.

Your right here, but to help you with your prompting issue I need to check your model config, prompt, call transcription and your expectations. This will help me understand your requirements.
