TTS to MP3

Hi, I have a question. I'm using Twilio to connect to VAPI, but before proceeding with that, I need to play some pre-recorded messages in MP3 format. Since I want these messages to use the same voices as those used during the call, do you offer any functionality to convert text into an MP3 (or another audio format) using those voices? Thank you!
v
@elfuns Hello! Yes, VAPI does offer functionality to convert text into audio formats like MP3 using the voices available in our text-to-speech services. You can select from a variety of voices across different providers, such as PlayHT, 11labs, Rime-ai, Deepgram, OpenAI, Azure, Lmnt, and Neets, to ensure consistency in voice throughout your call experience. To proceed with converting your text to speech, you'll need to choose the provider and the specific voice you'd like to use. Once you've made your selection, I can guide you through the process of generating the audio file. Could you please provide me with the text you'd like to convert and your preferred voice and provider?
You can continue this conversation by mentioning me in the message.

@Vapi For example, ¿how can i convert a text like "Hello, welcome to our system", in english, using 11labs and voiceID 8JVbfL6oEdmuxKn5DK2C ¿And what about if i need Azure and another Voice?
v
@elfuns To convert the text "Hello, welcome to our system" into speech using 11labs with the voice ID
8JVbfL6oEdmuxKn5DK2C
, you would typically use the text-to-speech API provided by 11labs, specifying the voice ID in the request. For Azure, you would also use their text-to-speech service, but you would need to select a voice from their catalog. Azure provides a list of voices with different languages and regional accents, so you can choose the one that best fits your needs. If you need to generate audio files using both 11labs and Azure, you would make separate API calls to each provider with the appropriate parameters, including the text, language, and voice ID or name. Since I'm here to assist you with VAPI, could you please specify if you need further guidance on how to make these API calls, or if you require assistance with any other part of the process? If you need the actual API calls to be made, please provide the necessary details, such as the text and the voice preferences for Azure, and I'll help you with that.

@Vapi then, VAPI does not offer the service, as I have to use the provier API
v
@elfuns I apologize for any confusion. VAPI itself does not directly provide text-to-speech conversion services. Instead, VAPI acts as an intermediary that can facilitate the connection between your application and various voice service providers, such as 11labs, Azure, and others. To use text-to-speech services, you would indeed need to interact with the APIs of the respective providers. VAPI can help streamline the process of integrating these services into your application, but the actual conversion of text to speech is handled by the provider's API. If you need assistance with integrating these services or have any other questions related to VAPI, please feel free to ask.

@elfuns we don't offer any services to convert text into voice, but you can use voice cloning features of ours to record your voice if works for you.
