Hey guys, just wanted to bubble up a known issue for any others using the dashboard in the future for you guys.
I believe there are instances for when an agent somehow doesn't have the "transferCall" function for some reason.
It can cause a pretty massive issue for agents in live environments unfortunately so if you guys could look into this, I think it'll help anyone who actually uses it in that scenario.
E.g. we have a bunch of agents taking actual calls where the purpose of them is to live transfer prospects that are interested. Over a 2 week period we have about 200+ live transfers, however I found out a few days ago that out of 18 agents I tested, 14 agents' live transfer functions didn't work. So ~80% of the time, the agents we had counted on it being able to live transfer (since it's a predefined function), it wasn't able to, it simply hung up.
The logs would indicate that the model called the transferCall tool, however in twilio it never registers an initiated "Outgoing dial" from that number.
I believe this is because on the backend, certain agents aren't provided the "transferCall" tool, kinda like how you'd have to add tools that are created.
So without that being reflected on the dashboard, the user (me in this case) would assume they are provided, then when I duplicate that agent, it creates a massive flux of agents that can't transfer calls despite thinking that they can.
Within one organization, we had only 1 out of 4 agents that were live that worked for live transfers.
I tested it out just now, when I created a new agent OR duplicated the one agent that can actually initiate live transfer function, they do work.
However when duplicating the agents that don't work, naturally they don't either.
Here are call ID's that you can use to investigate:
