AI is remembering old conversations

Hi, For some reason, the AI is able to retain the old conversations, even though there's no such function of memory, for example, it knew the name of the last person which it had conversation with, and actually repeated it with that name, so I have to prevent this from happening.
v
@Lampard Hello! It sounds like you're experiencing an unexpected behavior where the AI is recalling information from previous conversations. To address this, we can ensure that any state or memory functions are disabled. If there's a specific setting or function in the VAPI that controls memory retention, you should review and adjust it accordingly. If you're not sure how to proceed or if the issue persists, please ask support for more info on this. They can provide detailed guidance on how to prevent the AI from retaining or recalling past conversation details.
You can continue this conversation by mentioning me in the message.
Got it. Tagging @User for additional help.

How do I disable it? @Vapi
v
@Lampard To disable any memory retention features in VAPI, you would typically need to adjust the settings or configurations within your voice application. However, since VAPI is a hypothetical API in this context, I can't provide specific instructions. If VAPI has a dashboard or a configuration file, you should look for settings related to state management, session handling, or memory features. Make sure to disable or configure these settings to not retain any conversational context between sessions. If you're unable to find such settings or if the issue is not resolved, please reach out to the support team for more detailed assistance. They can provide you with the exact steps to ensure that the AI does not retain information from previous interactions.
b
what models are you using?
l
gpt4o, deepgram multi, elevenlabs multilingual
b
are you using some kind of dynamic prompt, or just a static one?
is there a call ID where this occured
l
Static prompt, basically it's just a translator between English and Spanish: First call: 23ed4650-dbbf-400a-8b58-4aba553d7cad (It'll say the first and last name) Second call: 17d6a2c9-4770-41ee-93fd-f997166fa9eb (It'll repeat the last name same as first call even though it was different)
@bryant any update?
c
Sounds like common hallucinations.
l
How it would remember the name of the person from previous call if that was the case?
c
Do you have names in your system prompt or no?
l
No, there are no names in prompt.
c
Yea that is very strange - most likely just hallucinating.
s
@Shubham Bajaj can you take a look into this issue?
s
Hey @Lampard To help track down this issue, could you share: - The call ID - When exactly this happened (the timestamp) - What response you expected to get - What response you actually got instead This would really help me figure out what went wrong!
