Agent Silence Issue After Call Pickup in VAPI AI

I’m currently running some tests using VAPI AI to make calls for confirming driver schedules. Occasionally, I’ve noticed that after picking up the call and responding, the agent remains silent. Additionally, I don’t hear the background office noise that the agent is configured to play. Is there something specific I should check or be aware of when configuring the assistant to avoid this issue? Here are some call IDs where this occurred: • 88b0fc23-16bf-42de-b868-4027cf6e3edf • a4719048-8fa3-4932-b02e-71a9e712bafe • e8265cbe-7a56-4914-ad92-db36773c8b61 Some calls were marked as customer ended because I hung up after noticing the persistent silence. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

@Walter Neto All of your calls ended with silence timeout because twilio detected unknown in your calls and there is no voicemail configured to handle it so they ended up this way. @Shubham Bajaj not sure if we are on the same page here. I picked up the phone call while testing and it is after picking up that I don't have any answer from the AI agent. I don't see how voicemail settings could be influencing this

@Walter Neto looking into it and apologies for the oversight.
@Walter Neto In this call, the user didn’t speak, so the call couldn’t capture any user input. I could only hear background noise and people speaking. Please try making another call and speaking into it.
@Walter Neto if you find this opposite according to you happy to get in a call, and resolve it live over there.

That is weird, I definetly spoke after answering the phone... Not sure why VAPI is not capturing anything. Please note that this only happens once in a while (like 2 out of 10 calls). Most of them go through successfully

Hey Walter, has this been resolved for you? If it's happening inconsistently I would definitely test it on two different platforms, IE web call / phone call to see if we can infer the location of the issue.
