Using Twilio Verified Caller IDs

Hey everyone, we're currently using Twilio for our calls with VAPI. We’d like to use the "Verified Caller IDs" feature, which allows us to display a different phone number (that we own and have verified) as the caller ID while still making calls through our regular Twilio number. This helps improve answer rates and maintain a consistent brand identity. Is there a way to integrate Verified Caller IDs into VAPI? If so, what would be the best way to set this up?

Hi there! 👋 Yes, you can definitely integrate Twilio's Verified Caller IDs with VAPI! This is a great way to improve answer rates while maintaining your brand identity. Here's how to set it up: 1. Log into your VAPI dashboard and navigate to the phone numbers section 2. Look for the option to add or verify a new number 3. Enter your main phone number that you want to verify 4. VAPI will send a verification code via call or SMS to that number 5. Enter the verification code back into the VAPI dashboard 6. Once verified, you can use this number as the Caller ID for outbound VAPI calls This allows you to mask your calls with your main number, so recipients will see your client's main number in their caller ID without needing to port the number to Twilio [source](https://discord.com/channels/1211482211119796234/1211483291191083018/1336375228703707176). For integration, you can use the
/phone-numbers/import
endpoint to verify and configure your Twilio number to work with VAPI without porting it over [source](https://discord.com/channels/1211482211119796234/1211483291191083018/1334941334368419850). Definitely need help with this issue

@ʕ•ᴥ•ʔノ ♡ You have to set the caller ID in twilio console and post that it will automatically appear when you make the calls using VAPI. So you don't need to do anything special.

Can you specify how this is done? I already bought multiple numbers and verified my Caller ID, but I see no option to set it and post.

VAPI integrates with Twilio for phone calls, and it uses the caller ID configuration that you set up in your Twilio account. Here's how to properly set this up: ### Step 1: Verify Your Caller ID in Twilio 1. Log into your Twilio Console at [console.twilio.com](https://console.twilio.com) 2. Navigate to Voice > Verified Caller IDs - In your Twilio dashboard, go to the "Voice" section and find "Verified Caller IDs" 3. Add a New Verified Caller ID - Click on "Verify a new Caller ID" - Enter the phone number you want to use as your caller ID - Twilio will then call this number with a verification code - Enter the verification code when prompted to complete verification ### Step 2: Make Calls with VAPI Using Your Verified Caller ID Once your number is verified in Twilio, you can use it with VAPI without any additional configuration: 1. Continue using VAPI as normal for your outbound calls 2. Twilio will automatically use your verified caller ID when making calls through VAPI There's no special configuration needed on the VAPI side. When VAPI makes a call through Twilio, it passes the phone number information to Twilio, and Twilio automatically handles the caller ID display based on your verified numbers. ### Troubleshooting: If your verified caller ID is not displaying correctly: 1. Confirm the number is properly verified in your Twilio console 2. Ensure you're using the correct Twilio account credentials with VAPI 3. Note that caller ID display can vary by carrier and region - some carriers may choose to display "Unknown" or modify the caller ID for spam prevention This setup allows your calls made through VAPI to display your business number or other verified number as the caller ID, which can significantly improve answer rates and maintain brand consistency.

k
Hey, during the import number time, can you pass your verified number instead of the number you bought on Twilio, then give it a shot?
k
Can you send a loom video showcasing all the steps in DM?

Can you msg me first? I don't have the option to DM you
