I went through the different discussions about how to effectively let the phone ring several times before having the assistant answer, but no-one have actually given a straightforward answer! I would love the steps to setup that on Vonage 💪

I've looked into your question about configuring Vonage to let the phone ring several times before the assistant answers, but I couldn't find the specific step-by-step instructions you're looking for. While I found some information about using the
delayMs
parameter within the
startSpeakingPlan
to introduce delays, and configuring voicemail detection settings that might help, there's no straightforward guide specifically for Vonage ring configuration. I've escalated your question to our technical team who can provide you with the exact steps you need. Someone will get back to you shortly with a clear answer! 👍 In the meantime, I did find that you can import your Vonage numbers into Vapi for use with our platform, which might be relevant to your setup. Would you like me to share any of the partial information I found while you wait for the complete answer?

Hey pierreh, can you help me more with your use case? What you're actually trying to get done and what state you are currently in (or what you've tried till now). Something with an example will help me understand your POV and better align with you. Then I can suggest something.

Basically from what I have witnessed, users don't espect the phone to answer in less than 1 sec, so a lot of people just miss the first sentence of the assistant because they either press the call button and then wait 2 or 3 second before starting to listen. What i want to achieve for inbound calls: Let the phone ring 2 or 3 times before having the assistant answer the call. What ihave so far: - Vonage connect to Vapi - When a call happens I have my phone number linked to my server and whenever a receive the assistant-request i give back the assistant id I don't know what more information i can provide, it's a simple integration vapi/vonage

Implementing ring delay for Vonage integration is not currently possible through Vapi. You'll need to check directly with Vonage's support team to determine if this functionality is available through their platform. Once you have Vonage's recommended implementation approach, please come back to us with those details. At that point, we can evaluate and potentially create a feature request to implement this functionality in Vapi in the future.

ok that would be great to have that possibility directly in Vapi 🤝
will check with them directly
