Changes not taking effect

Pretty much every field or dropdown that I try to change does not actually save when I refresh the page. For example, if I change the prompt and tab out the prompt field and hit publish, and then I navigate away from that page or refresh the page the prompt was not saved. If I change the tools available for that assistant from the drop-down, although I checked them and published, refresh the page or navigate aways and come back to it, the tools that I previously selected and published are not selected. You have to do it two or three times and eventually they will stick. There are several support tickets already open on this issue, from exactly a year ago and this is still an issue... please help. https://discord.com/channels/1211482211119796234/1226509111634690200 https://discord.com/channels/1211482211119796234/1247555363398619216

I understand your frustration with this issue. You're right - this is a known bug in the Vapi UI where changes aren't being properly saved, even after receiving success messages. I've escalated your case to our support team for immediate attention. Based on the information I've found, this is indeed a documented issue that several users have experienced, where changes to prompts, tool selections, and other settings don't persist after refreshing or navigating away from the page. While our team works on a permanent fix, you might try these temporary workarounds: - Using the API to make changes instead of the UI - Refreshing the page between attempts - Trying the
x-vapi
header as an alternative method I apologize that this issue has persisted for so long. Our support team will reach out to you directly with more specific assistance for your case.

What exactly is this? Docs don't show anything... > Trying the x-vapi header as an alternative method

Can you send a loom?
a
@alexrb1 Thank you for sending the video, Taking a look
@alexrb1 can you try deleting your draft state?
a
I'm sorry, not sure what that is. Where is that?
Any progress on this? Anyting that I can do to not have to constantly refresh and paste item over and over to get it saved?
I deleted another Ord and recreated, as a paid Org, and that one doesn't have this issue. Only the VAPI Free one does, which make it pretty unusable with all of double and triple checking that it saved the info. I would hate to have to delete all of the assistants, tools, phones and start over again. Since it works on the other org, and someone mentioned it here, maybe there is somthing "bad" within one of my settings.
take that back... started happening in the new org too. this is just not usable this way.
Hi @Arvind TGIF. Any progress or updates on this. It is so hard to use the GUI with this issue. I added another org to test and it worked at first but thenit started to do the same thing, plus I'm still in development mode and can't efficiently and effectlively use the gui
If I add the tool and then go into the prompt and edit it (add a new line) then the Publish button gets the rocket. I press it, saves it - get the success promot, but then the rocket is there, I press it the second time, get another save success message and then the Publish has the checkmark and edits are saved.

Hey Alex, checking if this is still happening for you. We have recently released the changes, so it should be fixed by now for you.
a
@Shubham Bajaj yes. I've been working on changing a prompt and just lost it the same way as before. I still tab out of the promot field, then press the Publish button twice until the rocket dissapears. Most of the times that works, but withint he last 15min i had one instance that it lost the edits (and didn't have them copied in the clipboard as I've been doing so I don't loose my work) 😦

Could you share your assistant and org ID? Let me see what can be done for it.

@Shubham Bajaj thank you.. orgid: b04ee39a-6995-42d5-8d07-1e0dff492b61 and pretty much any assistant: 473b14f4-279e-4d55-b7d8-a85e909e396b, 3c68ee5d-b8b4-4e92-987f-23cfc71de311, d534e93b-8c8d-4fb5-886d-efdc94df488b.... tried to remove the "test" line at the bottom - delete it tab out and Published. Did it on all 3, they are all still there. Try to add end-of-call tool, add it in the dropdown, Publish, go back and it isn't there.
Here's a recording of trying to remove a tool. Notice how if I simply remove it, it doesn't "know" and the Publish button doesn get the rocket. If I remove it from the lsit or added it and removeit again, the Publish button updates, but even then I have to Publish twice since after the first publish the "rocket" is still there. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1358818862942126116/1361344384846791107/Screen_Recording_2025-04-14_at_10.12.28_AM.mov?ex=67fe6a41&is=67fd18c1&hm=82b70f87a2f8c029db6d1419a336f0f97b4b6e9317dd9231302e73a227485c76&

We are working on it to fix this issue. Meanwhile, can you use API?
a
Hi. Yes, I can, but much harder to format and navigate especially creating and updating the prompt. Do you have any suggestions on the best way to handle the prompt? Maybe a way to pull it from a file or something like that?
Today's (jsut now) release seems to have fixed my issues. Works AWESOME.
