04/21/2025, 12:25 PMI'm just wondering if vapi assistant can be triggered when a user sends a text message to it because if not the user text message is unanswered and also we cannot keep track of the message sent to the phone number that Vapi is managing.

04/21/2025, 1:21 PMYou can use Live Call Control to send a message to the VAPI Assistant whenever a SMS arrives. With this live call control, you can even trigger a message which will get voiced out by the Assistant in real-time. This way you can interrupt the Assistant conversation and inform the user "Hey, we've sent you the message."
