I would like to draw attention to the roadmap request for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF). Once Vapi registers and becomes certified under the DPF, it will be permitted to receive personal data from the EU in compliance with the GDPR. The legal basis for this is the adequacy decision issued by the European Commission under Article 45 of the GDPR in July 2023. This decision does not apply to the U.S. as a whole but only to U.S. companies that actively join and certify under the DPF. For certified companies, data transfers are treated as if the data were being processed within the EU. This is particularly relevant for all customers and individuals operating in the EU who share or process personal data with Vapi.
