It's because Vapi isn’t a language model, it orchestrates other providers like OpenAI or 11Labs via assistants and workflows, which you configure separately.

and what about the connecting to assistant part i am not able to connect the workflow with the assistant there is no option for that

Set the model provider to “vapi” in the assistant settings, this reveals the option to attach or create a workflow.

there are all sorts of llm but no vapi in the model provider ..... my voice provider is vapi though
