when the customer picks up the call, even if the call only lasts 1 second. we get charged for a full minute. When a call doesn't go through and goes to voicemail. do we also have to pay a full minute for the voicemail that only lasts maybe 4 seconds? I'm trying to calculate my costs.

Based on the information found, Vapi charges a minimum of 1 minute for regular calls, even if the call lasts only a few seconds. However, the documentation does not explicitly state whether this same billing rule applies to calls that go to voicemail and last only a few seconds. To ensure you get an accurate answer for your cost calculations, could you clarify if you are using a specific voicemail detection setting or provider, or would you like me to direct you to Vapi support for a definitive billing policy on short voicemail calls? im using the default voicemail detection by Vapi
do I have to pay a full minute (eg: 20 cents every time my agent leaves a voice message. which will be every single call it makes. that would make the cost of this service astronomical

In your dashboard, you can verify the cost in the call logs section. If you would like us to review a certain call and its costs, you can provide that call id here and we will review it.
