@User@Sahil@Shubham Bajaj@Kings_big💫 I’m currently facing an issue with our voice agent built on Vapi. The agent is misinterpreting user inputs for names and email addresses. Even when users say things like “john dot doe at gmail dot com,” the agent is either transcribing it incorrectly or not processing it into a valid email format.
The agent often returns incorrect spellings of names.
Email inputs like “name at gmail dot com” are not being converted into proper format (e.g., name@gmail.com).
Confirmation logic is either missing or not reliably verifying the inputs with the user.
The agent consistently skips or mishears the third digit of the phone number during input.

Prompt users to spell out names and emails clearly, validate inputs with regex, confirm each one, use structured data fields, offer fallback via SMS/email if needed, and test different ASR engines for better accuracy..

have same issue tbh even when ask them to spell it out. Solution im going for is probably going have the ai spell it out very slowly for them in the call to confirm it heard evrythign right. Then use code , regex and validation to confirm it extracted the right email. The other solution I might try if i feel like it is just have them text the email through sms and then have aumotion that pulls it through the sms and uses the live control url to directly input into vapi's conversational history
