Congrats to everyone who submitted to the VAPI hackathon. I learned a lot, even if I didn’t win. That said, I do think it’s important we talk about the incentive structures behind these events — especially when community engagement seems to drive more value for sponsors than for devs. These competitions are often as much about visibility and token use as they are about innovation. That’s not necessarily bad, but it’s worth recognizing. Just my 2¢ as someone who showed up with real intent.
