Deleting a Twilio organization doesn't release its phone number so you must manually release it in the Console otherwise, it's still tied to the old org, and only Twilio Support can help reclaim or transfer it if it's not available for repurchase..

Write a mail to VAPI support. It can be done by their support from backend.

I have an ongoing thread with Shubham about a Twilio number stuck as 'in use by another org' even after deleting the old organization - been waiting on a response since yesterday. I initially had two Vapi organizations - a personal testing account and my company account. The Twilio number was working fine in my company account, but then it suddenly disappeared from that account yesterday. When I tried to re-add the number to my company account, I got an error saying it was 'already in use by another org' - presumably because the system thought it was still tied to my personal testing account.
I followed the support suggestion and completely deleted my personal testing organization, but I'm still getting the same error when trying to add the number back to my company account. It seems like there's a backend issue where the number is still flagged as 'in use' even though the organization that was supposedly using it no longer exists.
I don't have a specific support URL since this has been handled through email
