Hi VAPI Support, I’ve set up a SIP trunk and added my phone number. When I call the number through my GSM line (connected via GOIP and Asterisk), the call reaches VAPI, but I hear the message: “Phone number not found.” Everything seems to be configured properly on my side, but the assistant doesn’t start, and the call gets terminated. Could you please help me understand why this happens or what I might be missing in the configuration? Thank you!

Ensure the number is added with

provider: "byo-phone-number"

and the correct

credentialId

, the SIP INVITE targets the correct URI, and your source IP or authentication matches what’s allowed in your Vapi SIP trunk settings..

Your SIP endpoint is not corretly configured. You can show it to me, perhaps I can help.

Hi @Subrat Sagar @KINGSBIG , thanks for offering to help. 🙏 Here’s what I’ve tried so far: First setup • Result: Call reaches Vapi, but I hear “Phone number not found” and it hangs up. • Behavior: I don’t see the call in the call logs in Vapi dashboard. I did some changes, the “Phone number not found” message is gone. Second setup • Result: Call is queued in Vapi dashboard (I see it in Call Logs), but it rings once and hangs up after 1–2 seconds of silence. • Behavior: No assistant starts. I get this error: “An error occurred in this call. Call in progress error. SIP outbound. Call failed to connect.” • Attached: config_queued_but_no_audio.txt Let me know what’s wrong in the config. Any fix is welcome 🙏

This is to do with dialplan config only. share pcap file or switch the pbx/sip gateway
