I understand there's a limit of 10 concurrent inbound calls. I also understand that outbound calling is limited to 10 calls per day. Just to clarify — is there no similar daily limit for inbound calls, aside from the concurrent connection cap?

I need clarification on this point as well, but I'm specifically interested in there being a limit of 10 outbound calls per line per day?! I'm a new user, and wasn't aware of this. I just checked with the AI Agent in VAPI and it said there is a limit but said the limit isn't published in the documentation. It seems crazy that a platform like this would have a limit that low.

Outbound calling is generally a lot trickier due to how prone it is to spam, fraud, and abuse. That’s why most platforms (including VAPI) tend to enforce stricter limits on outbound traffic

I definitely agree outbound calling can be tricky, but platforms like Twilio allow for up to 86,400 calls per day. Of course it needs to be set up correctly, but to hear that VAPI has a limit of 10 calls/day doesn't make any sense, particularly for a platform designed for making calls. Given the platform is able to connect to Twilio I can make it work, but I'm more confused by why they would even bother to offer phone numbers and outbound dialing if they limit it to 10 outbound calls in a day.

Hi Smith (hasbulla), For inbound calls, Vapi does impose a concurrency limit of 10 simultaneous calls for inbound and outbound calls combined. This is the primary restriction. There is no cap on the total number of inbound calls you can receive over time, but incoming calls beyond the concurrent limit will queue or be rejected until slots free up. As far as outbound limits, we impose these limits only on our free numbers as they are mainly for testing out your integrations. Once you are ready to scale up, you can purchase a Twilio or Telnyx number that you can import into VAPI, which has less limitations for outbound.
