Hello,

I've created an app for my customers. They can create an assistant and associate it with a Twilio number. In the event of a billing issue, a customer's assistant can be disabled until the issue is resolved. However, I can't find a way to disable the assistant without unlinking their Twilio number. Is there an easy way to disable an assistant? Thank you for your help.

Hi Vincent, 1. Update the assistant to return an error message :
Copy code
{
  "assistant": {
    "firstMessage": "This account has been disabled due to billing issues. Please contact support.",
    "model": {
      "messages": [
        {
          "role": "system",
          "content": "Inform user about account suspension and end call"
        }
      ]
    }
  }
}
2. Use the
assistant-request
webhook to handle disabled accounts :
Copy code
{
  "error": "This account has been suspended due to billing issues. Please contact support."
}
3. For phone numbers, you could implement logic in your
assistant-request
handler to: - Check account status - Return an error message if account is disabled - Or transfer to a message explaining the account status While there's no direct "disable" switch, you can effectively disable functionality by controlling the assistant's behavior through these mechanisms.
