Post-Transfer Charges When Using Vapi Numbers for ...

I'm running a Vapi AI assistant integrated with a Twilio number for inbound calls. Twilio's per-minute fees are adding up quickly because they bill for the entire connected duration including after transfers to live agents, where long hold times or extended conversations can drag on. With rising call volumes, this is becoming a cost concern. If I switch to using one of my free Vapi-provisioned US numbers for the inbound side, would Vapi still charge for minutes after a blind transfer to a completely separate external number (e.g., my live rep's line)? I get that Vapi's $0.05/min covers the AI platform usage up to handoff, but if the live rep call lasts an hour post-transfer, would that trigger additional Vapi charges for the full duration, or does billing stop once the AI session ends? Example: 2-min AI interaction + 58-min live handoff = ? Total Vapi-billed minutes? Appreciate any clarification or docs on this—thanks! #1211483291191083018

The charges should stop once the call is fully handed off. If you have any call logs from Twilio that have transfers and matching Vapi call ids with high costs, we can investigate them
