"end chat" coming by default in web widget for voice mode aswell, i dont see any way to hide it, is this a bug?
v
Currently, there is no documented way to hide the "end chat" or "end call" button in the Vapi web widget for voice mode. The widget allows you to customize the button's label using the
end-button-text
property, but not to remove or hide the button entirely. If this is critical for your use case, you may want to submit feedback or a feature request to the Vapi team. Example customization:
html
<vapi-widget
  public-key="your-public-key"
  assistant-id="your-assistant-id"
  mode="voice"
  end-button-text="End Call"
></vapi-widget>
For now, hiding the button is not supported according to the documentation. Source: - [Vapi Web Widget Documentation](https://docs.vapi.ai/chat/web-widget)

I can help you with that, this usually happens when the default widget settings load the chat footer by design, even in voice mode. Sometimes it’s linked to the recent VAPI UI update or the embed configuration. Could you let me know how you integrated the widget (React, HTML snippet, or iframe)? @Eswara Naidu

Hi @Vercel I am using html snippet.
is there a way I can hide it.
v
Thanks for sharing the full snippet — that makes it clear. The “End Chat” button is part of VAPI’s default widget layout and still appears even in voice mode. It’s not fully removable through the current config, which is why your custom script only hides it temporarily before it reappears. The best option for now is to cover it with a small overlay div or wait for the upcoming SDK update that allows button customization. Can you check which SDK version or widget build you’re using so I can see if there’s a stable workaround for it? @Eswara Naidu

I believe it's the latest version, here it is. Directly taken it from widget code in the vapi dashboard as a reference.
v
I can help you get this fixed. Since the “End Chat” button comes from the default VAPI layout, I can create a stable custom script that hides it completely without affecting your voice mode or breaking anything else. I’ll also test it across different browsers to make sure it stays consistent. If you’d like, we can talk privately so I can look at your setup and handle the fix directly for you. @Eswara Naidu
