Hi!! Is there anyone on this channel who could PLEASE help me with finding a guaranteed way of getting my assistant to "perform pauses" during a conversation? Right now my assistant "steamrolls" through the entire script I have built in the System Prompt. The support team says that I can create pauses via SSML tags - which didn't work. And Vapi's support bot says that SSML tags are NOT supported by Vapi. And instead I should use tags. Guess what... I tried that and it didn't work. I tried breaking the assistant: messages inside the system prompt - that doesn't work. I inserted system: messages in between assistant: message to try and "invoke" a pause - didn't work! I tried every form of punctuation - that didn't work either. So what the hell am I doing wrong???? Or is it just a limitation of the platform and I should look for another "voice agent" platform that allows me to create pauses....And just in case you're wondering, when I used SSML tags and tags, I first "enabled" them on my assistant via a PATCH request to Vapi's API. Hopefully there's someone out there than can help me find a solution. THANKS!!!
