Rate limit simultaneous calls

I would like to know if the limit of 10 simultaneous calls applies to my entire account, or only to the current organization? Because I'm having to create a VAPI account for each client I have, if it's possible to have this limit only for the organization, I would like to know.

The 10 concurrent call limit applies to your entire Vapi account (or organization) as a whole, not per client or sub-organization. When you create a call, the API response includes a
subscriptionLimits
object showing your current concurrency status:
Copy code
json
"subscriptionLimits": {
  "concurrencyBlocked": false,
  "concurrencyLimit": 10,
  "remainingConcurrentCalls": 9
}
To increase your concurrency, you can adjust your reserved call lines in the [Vapi Dashboard](https://dashboard.vapi.ai/settings/billing) without creating separate accounts for each client. For more details, see the [Vapi concurrency documentation](https://docs.vapi.ai/calls/call-concurrency). Source: - [Vapi Call Concurrency Documentation](https://docs.vapi.ai/calls/call-concurrency)

The limit of 10 simultaneous calls applies to your entire Vapi organization, not just individual campaigns or users within that organization.

Thank you for your reply @Shaunak . So it refers to my account, and not my organization?
c
Hi Lucas, it refers to your organization.

I believe there could be some confusion, is the concurrency per org or per account? You can own multiple orgs on one account, but to create them you have to add additional credits for them. Concurrency is per ACCOUNT right? What stops people from creating a second org for $1 and getting another 10 lines for free?
Organizations are not above accounts
Accounts are above orgs, as each account can have multiple orgs
c
Hi Adrian, Concurrency is enforced per organization, not per user account. Each organization has its own concurrency limit (10 concurrent calls by default). Creating another org does not give “free” additional concurrency; each org must be funded and managed separately, and concurrency applies to that org’s resources and usage. Hope that clears it up!
a
Yeah, but extra lines are $10/month, but to create a new org only requires a $1 credit add minimum, so you're saying you can create that new org with $1 and get 10 more lines included?
Creating a new org quite literally gives another 10 lines of concurrency if each org comes with 10 lines as standard
Say you anticipate 20 concurrent calls
instead of using 1 org with say $100 in credits, and paying an extra $100/m for the 10 extra lines needed, you could make a new org, keep $50 in credits on each, and then not have to pay another $100/m for the extra 10 lines
You see what I'm saying? I think we may be confused on eachother
Why pay an extra $100 for 10 more lines when you can just create a new org with a deposit of $1 and get 10 more with it
c
You’re right but that’s not allowed. While concurrency is enforced per organization, creating additional orgs purely to bypass concurrency limits is considered abuse of the platform. Orgs created or used this way can be restricted or blocked. So even though an org technically starts with default concurrency, using multiple low‑funded orgs to “stack” lines isn’t permitted and won’t work for sustained or production usage. If you need more concurrent calls, the correct path is to purchase additional concurrency for your org or talk to us about higher‑volume options.
