Hi, the voice agent isn't hearing me when I talk t...

The call transcript and recording shows long gaps where I was talking but the agent didn't hear anything. This is not an issue with my phone, carrier, or Twilio, as I have ruled out those options, since my calls worked fine when calling people using my phone directly. I have an investor demo in 1hour, so I'd appreciate immediate help!

Yesss I have the EXACT same problem
The recording shows little to absolutely no audio coming from the caller. No matter if I am screaming to my phone
It also seems to happen when I test a voice agent in the web/vapi dashboard
I also use twilio and it seems to work fine most of the times. It does it 4 times out of 10

Thank you! I feel like I'm screaming into the void and not getting any help or even a response from Vapi
Also their AI composer LLM thing keeps erroring out when I try to use it to diagnose the issue

Have you written them an email?
Also i think this might be region based. US does not seem to have this problem
And the composer ai is not helpful at all. They should have focused on fixing core problems like this instead of making useless features. Making the ai agents is the easy part
Either way how often is this problem occurring to you?

This problem occurs on every call
It just started a few hours ago but was working fine earlier in the morning

Weird I had the problem two days ago. Hanged up and called again fixed
It kinda worked but yesterday had the same problem and it was way more persistent. It did not work for like 5 consecutive calls
After that i changed the transcriber from deepgram to azure to see if that would fix it and it supposedly worked. To my surprise today it really really did not work. After that i changed back to deepgram nova 2 and it is working
I have done maybe 20 tests and only one failed
Have you heard of this problem from someone else?

No I haven't
I'm currently switching to ElevenLabs - no issues with them so far

I would not trust that. I have used elevenlabs before and after the problems. I do not think is that. (I had the issue while using elevenlabs)
But if it works for you great!!

I had the problem while using elevenlabs
I really do not know what the problem is but I really do not think it has to do with the voice model
It is probably a miscommunication fron twilio to vapi or smt
