Voice Provider Not Showing in Latency + Robotic Vo...

In the latency panel, the voice provider appears for other setups even when I use OpenAI voice. However, in this case it doesn’t show. Also, the voice sounds fine in the platform test, but during an actual phone call it becomes very robotic. Please help fix this. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1476531475024449597/1476531475305463911/image.png?ex=69a17698&is=69a02518&hm=70d8f9c3d9e969cde25a0dec51219da4c6959d63df8d970fbec46bbbb76236c1&

Try switching to a different OpenAI voice or provider to resolve the robotic sound during phone calls. Here's how you can do it in the Vapi dashboard: 1. Go to your assistant's Voice tab. 2. Select a different supported voice (e.g.,
alloy
,
echo
,
shimmer
,
marin
, or
cedar
). 3. Save and retest your phone call. This step directly addresses robotic or unnatural voice issues as recommended in the [Debugging voice agents documentation](https://docs.vapi.ai/debugging). Source: - [Debugging voice agents documentation](https://docs.vapi.ai/debugging)

If the voice provider isn’t showing in the latency panel, the call may be routing through a different path (e.g., telephony), which can hide the provider there. That would also explain why it sounds fine in platform tests but robotic on live phone calls. This is commonly caused by telephony codecs or resampling lowering audio quality. Please double-check the codec and sampling rate used for phone calls.
