Prompting Issues

1. Repeats back name (and other info as well - address, phone etc.) very inaccurately 90% of the time - Biggest issue 2. Repeats back (the same information) very quickly, making it sounds very robotic, even though I've told the assistant to repeat info slowly. Melissa Play.ht is set to the lowest voice speed (0.1) Any prompting recommendations? Call ID: cd75993b-ae6d-4fc8-9200-e5df1c7cfedb

@Aryan N I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with the voice assistant's performance. Let's address each of your concerns: 1. For the issue with the assistant repeating names incorrectly, it might be beneficial to adjust the speech recognition settings to better capture and understand different names. Additionally, implementing a confirmation step where the assistant repeats the name back and asks for confirmation could help improve accuracy. 2. Regarding the speed at which the assistant repeats information, we can certainly adjust the speech rate to ensure that it sounds more natural and is easier to understand. Slowing down the speech output can make the interaction feel less robotic and more conversational. To proceed with these adjustments, I would need to know more about the specific settings or parameters you're currently using. If you could provide that information, I can offer more tailored advice or directly make the necessary changes if you're comfortable with that.
You can continue this conversation by mentioning me in the message.

Melissa Play.ht is set to the lowest voice speed (0.1)
v
@Aryan N Thank you for providing the additional information. It seems that you've already set Melissa's voice speed to the lowest setting available on Play.ht. If the speech still sounds too fast, it might be a limitation of the voice provider's settings. However, we can try a couple of things: 1. Double-check the voice speed setting to ensure it's properly configured at 0.1. 2. Experiment with different phrasing or punctuation in the text you're providing to the assistant, as this can sometimes affect the delivery speed and cadence. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to reach out to Play.ht's support for further assistance, as they might have additional insights or solutions specific to their service. Would you like me to double-check the voice speed setting for you, or is there anything else I can assist you with regarding this matter?

Double check the setting please
v
@Aryan N I apologize for any confusion, but as a support bot for VAPI, I don't have direct access to third-party services like Play.ht to check or adjust their settings. However, I can guide you through the process of verifying the voice speed setting for Melissa on Play.ht: 1. Log in to your Play.ht account. 2. Go to your dashboard where you manage your voice settings. 3. Locate the voice settings for Melissa and check the speech rate or speed parameter. 4. Ensure that it is indeed set to the lowest possible value (0.1 in this case). 5. If the setting is correct, try listening to a sample to confirm the speech rate. If after these steps the issue persists, it would be best to contact Play.ht support for further assistance. They will be able to provide more detailed support for their specific service. If there's anything else I can help you with, please let me know!

Interesting, setting the voice speed to 1 vs 0.1 makes no difference. Setting it to 5 makes it ultra fast though
v
@Aryan N It sounds like there may be a threshold below which changes to the voice speed setting do not have a noticeable impact on the actual speech rate. This could be a limitation or a specific feature of the Play.ht service. Since setting it to 5 increases the speed significantly, the service is responding to changes, but the range between 0.1 and 1 might not be finely calibrated. Here are a few steps you can take to address this: 1. Experiment with settings slightly above 1 to see if there is a gradual change in speed. There might be a 'sweet spot' that provides the desired slower speech rate. 2. Use punctuation strategically, such as commas and periods, to create natural pauses in the speech. 3. Contact Play.ht customer support to report this issue. They might have a solution or can provide a fix in a future update. If you need further assistance with VAPI or have other questions, feel free to ask!

Buddy AI is messing up again. So what you need is a silence delimeter between thing.you wanna add pauses to and a prompt that tells the model to add those delinaters. Example: you need to spell the name with periods between each letter like A . R . M . A . N. You will get your delays
a
Could you check my prompt again? Didn't work. Prompt: Start by telling them with a joke that you are bad at names and ask the caller to spell out their name slowly letter by letter. Listen to the caller's exact spelling of their name. REPEAT NAME, EXACTLY HOW THE CALLER SPELLED IT, BACK LETTER BY LETTER with periods between each letter. For example: A.R.M.A.N, and please be as accurate as possible, it is incredibly important.
