@Philip_E Hello! 👋 I'm here to help you with your issue. If your phone number imported from Twilio isn't verified, it's possible that the number hasn't been properly linked or recognized by Vapi. To resolve this, please ensure that the import process was completed successfully in your Vapi account. If you've already done this and the problem persists, it might be necessary to go through the verification process again or check if there are any additional steps required to fully integrate the Twilio number with Vapi. Would you like me to guide you through the verification process or assist you with checking the status of your imported number in the Vapi dashboard?
You can continue this conversation by mentioning me in the message.
p
@Vapi yes help me I installed the twillio numbers to Vapi successfully, but when I want to make those outbound calls, Vapi keeps telling me the number I'm about to call isn't verified But if I use a number almost as same as the outbound caller number it goes through But when it does go through it says I need to upgrade my account to remove this message (upgrade your account to remove this message)
v
@Philip_E It sounds like there are two separate issues here: 1. The outbound calls are not going through because Vapi is indicating that the number you're trying to call isn't verified. This could be due to a restriction in your account settings or a requirement to verify outbound call numbers for security reasons. 2. When you use a similar number to the outbound caller number, the call goes through, but you receive a message prompting you to upgrade your account. This message is likely a default placeholder indicating that your account is on a trial or limited plan, and certain features or a message-free experience are available only on a paid plan. To address the first issue, please ensure that the numbers you are trying to call are indeed verified or that your account is authorized to make calls to unverified numbers. If you believe everything is set up correctly, you may need to contact Vapi support for a more detailed look into your account. Regarding the second issue, if you wish to remove the message about upgrading your account, you will likely need to consider moving to a paid plan that offers the full feature set without trial limitations. Would you like assistance with verifying the numbers you're trying to call or with understanding the upgrade options for your account?
p
@Vapi I need assistance
v
@Philip_E Certainly! Let's tackle these issues one at a time. Firstly, regarding the verification of numbers for outbound calls, it's important to ensure that all numbers you intend to call are verified with Vapi if that's a requirement of the service. If you're unsure how to verify these numbers or if you believe they should already be verified, I can guide you through the verification process or help you check the status of the numbers. Secondly, for the message about upgrading your account, this typically indicates that you're on a trial or limited plan. To remove this message and access the full capabilities of Vapi, you would need to upgrade to a paid plan. I can provide you with information on how to upgrade your account or direct you to the appropriate resources to do so. Please let me know which issue you would like to address first, or if you would like to proceed with both, I can assist you with that as well.
p
@Vapi let's proceed with the first issue
v
@Philip_E Great, let's proceed with the first issue regarding the verification of numbers for outbound calls. To verify a number for outbound calls with Vapi, you typically need to follow these steps: 1. Log in to your Vapi account dashboard. 2. Navigate to the section where you can manage your phone numbers. 3. Look for an option to verify new numbers or manage existing verified numbers. 4. If you're adding a new number to verify, you may need to enter the number and follow the prompts to complete the verification process. This might involve receiving a call or text message with a verification code that you'll need to enter on the platform. Since you mentioned that you've already imported numbers from Twilio successfully, it's possible that there's a specific requirement or step that was missed during the import process that is preventing the numbers from being recognized as verified for outbound calls. If you've already tried the above steps and are still facing issues, it might be necessary to reach out to Vapi's customer support for a more in-depth investigation into your account. They would be able to check the status of your imported numbers and guide you through any additional steps required to verify them for outbound calling. Would you like to try verifying the numbers again yourself, or would you prefer to contact Vapi's customer support for further assistance?

@Philip_E Please ask support for more info on this.

@Vapi second issue?
c
You have the country code with the plus?
v
@Philip_E For the second issue regarding the message about upgrading your account, it seems that you are currently on a plan that includes a default message indicating the trial or limited status of your account. To remove this message and unlock the full features of Vapi, you will need to upgrade to a paid plan. Here's how you can typically upgrade your account: 1. Log in to your Vapi account dashboard. 2. Navigate to the billing or subscription section of your account. 3. Review the available plans and the features they offer. 4. Select the plan that best suits your needs and follow the prompts to upgrade, which will usually involve providing payment information and confirming your plan choice. Upgrading your account should remove any trial limitations, including the default message prompting users to upgrade. If you need more detailed guidance on the available plans or the upgrade process, or if you encounter any issues while trying to upgrade, it would be best to contact Vapi's customer support directly. They can provide personalized assistance and ensure that your account is upgraded smoothly. Would you like to proceed with the upgrade on your own, or do you need further assistance with this process?
p
@Chowderr yes it has a plus
c
With the country code?
Also if you put a picture of the error that would help more then anything.
p
@Chowderr Yes Sir The number imported from twillio can make calls to numbers almost the same as it But when I'm trying to call other country number it says those numbers are unverified Okay one minute
c
Your on a trail account from Twillio?
p
But I bought a number from Twillio Sir
c
You can buy a number and still be on trail, it's weird sometimes. Your picture will have the exact error.
c
Also usally you have to put the number you are calling into Twillio as a veried number.
p
@Chowderr How do I ensure it is already verified
c
You should screenshot from computer next time please that is super hard to read. And yea that is from your twillio account, not VAPI. You need to go through all your settings, make sure your account is loaded and etc.
p
Sorry about that
@Chowderr how about the Vapi assistant saying I have to upgrade to remove that message
The message it keeps saying is (upgrade your account to remove this message)
c
Your Twillio account most likely.
p
@Chowderr So basically you are saying I don't really have to pay anything to Vapi since I'm using an imported number from twillio right!?
@Vapi So basically you are saying I don't really have to pay anything to Vapi since I'm using an imported number from twillio right!?
v
@Philip_E That's correct! Since you've imported your phone number from Twilio, any per-minute charges for calling that number will appear on your Twilio account, not your Vapi account. Vapi will not charge you for telephony services related to that number. However, you will still need to ensure that your Twilio account is properly set up and that you've completed any necessary steps to verify numbers for outbound calling as per Twilio's requirements. Regarding the message about upgrading your account to remove the "upgrade your account to remove this message" prompt, this is likely related to the service plan you are on with Twilio or Vapi. If you're seeing this message when making calls through Vapi using your Twilio number, it could be a default message from Twilio indicating that you're on a trial or limited plan with them. To resolve this, you would need to check your Twilio account to ensure you're on a paid plan that supports the features you need without trial limitations. If the message is coming from Vapi, then you would need to look into upgrading your Vapi account to a paid plan that removes such default messages. If you need further clarification or assistance with upgrading your account on either service, please let me know, and I'll be happy to help!
c
You should def read the VAPI docs and understand how the pricing works.
p
