Hello, I'm having issues with VAPI. The assistant suddenly stops speaking even though we are receiving a feedback from the caller. It seems that it didn't hear what the caller said because the ended reason indicates "Silenced Time Out".

@Julio Hello! I'm here to help you with your VAPI issue. It sounds like the assistant might be experiencing a problem with the silence detection feature, which can cause it to time out if it doesn't detect any speech from the caller. To address this, we may need to adjust the silence timeout settings or look into any potential issues with the voice recognition sensitivity. Could you provide me with more details about your current configuration? Specifically, information about the silence timeout settings and any noise reduction or voice activity detection features you have enabled would be helpful. This will allow me to give you more accurate advice on how to resolve the issue.
You can continue this conversation by mentioning me in the message.

Hello @Vapi, I do not have any roise reduction or voice activity detection features. The silence timeout settings is set to 30 seconds.

@Julio Thank you for providing that information. If the silence timeout is set to 30 seconds and the assistant is timing out prematurely, it's possible that the voice input is not being detected correctly. Here are a few steps we can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue: 1. **Check Microphone Input**: Ensure that the microphone used by the caller is functioning correctly and is not muted or obstructed. 2. **Test Network Connectivity**: Poor network connectivity can sometimes cause voice packets to drop, leading to silence detection kicking in. Make sure the network connection is stable. 3. **Adjust Silence Timeout**: If the environment is generally noisy or the caller takes longer pauses, consider increasing the
silenceTimeoutSeconds
to give callers more time before the call ends. 4. **Review Audio Quality**: Low audio quality or volume from the caller's side might cause the assistant not to detect the speech properly. Verify that the audio quality is sufficient. If you've checked these factors and the issue persists, we may need to look into the system logs or further configuration details. Would you like to proceed with adjusting the
silenceTimeoutSeconds
setting or explore other troubleshooting steps?
