Hello everyone, is anyone using VAPI in BYO sip trunk as well as BYO Phone number? I am currently getting an error that I can not solve, I was wondering if anyone has ever had this problem? Here is the error: X-Reason: Multiple accounts are attempting to route the same phone number from the same carrier I only have this problem with incoming calls because I use another number for outgoing calls, so I have two different trunks but only 1 account so i don't understand the error.

Hey Kevin, as the error messages some other accounts are also using this phone number for calls and because of this you get this error. Kindly delete all of the existing SIPs with this number on Vapi and then try creating new again. Most likely you could have associated it with either multiple orgs or accounts.
Let me know if you require further help!!

Thanks for your answer. The number is mine, I work for a telecom operator and it's our number. delivered by ARCEP (french electronic communication regulator authority) directly, so it's impossible. I have just one account in my organisation, I'm in charge of making the integration with VAPI and my operator. I have two trunks with two differents IP addresses (inbound / outbound) I tried with another number and I fixed the problem but my previous number is over for inbound calls, that's strange. This error came from the IP address from VAPI (503: Multiple account etc) Do you know the real procedure for BYO trunk and phone numbers ? As I see, the steps are: 1. Create the trunk (outbound) 2. Create the phone number 3. Create the trunk (inbound) 4. Link the number to the inbound trunk also. Am I correct? Thanks for your help, i can give more details in private if you can / want.

1. create the trunk (inbound and outbound) 2. create the phone number 3. Link the number.
Please refer to the following guides that demonstrate how to establish a connection with your SIP provider. Note: While these guides use Twilio as an example, the process remains consistent across other telephony providers.
