End Call tool isn't triggering consistently

On this call, the assistant said the end call message, but didn't call the tool: 241787e7-00c4-4fa8-b8ac-cd967b87fefc On this call, the caller had to specifically tell the bot to hang up: 990e2108-f4fb-4585-b391-1595eff4bd6f
Here's more call ids with this issue: a20b0122-7ca7-445a-9ae9-e52027ded9e8 c061a614-4158-40f0-844f-41b4b33f3810 b96e9726-6564-4583-acfd-e9f00cd48a85 f3cc7e14-07b7-42ef-ba81-bf330ac0a40f

Hey mcondie, Firstly, the model
llama-3.1-70b-versatile
has been decommissioned and is no longer supported. Please refer to for a recommendation on which model to use instead. Could you please switch to an openAI model for testing purposes and let me know how it goes?
m
Some of those call ids were on llama-3.3-70b-versatile, which is not deprecated.
Open AI is 5-6 times the cost of the llama models so we're not planning to move to that for most of our customers. The end call was working before with llama models
I've updated all the bots that were 3.1 to 3.3

@mcondie Checking if this is resolved for you?
fyi
With Llama models, we've observed previously inconsistent tools calling. We suggest either switching to Claude or OpenAI (as you already mentioned, it'll cost you 5-6 times more).
For me to help you with this end call behavior, I need to understand your call behavior and when it was expected to end the call. Please help me with the following information: - Call ID - When exactly this happened (the timestamp) - What response you expected to get - What response you actually got instead This would really help us figure out what went wrong! ℹ️ I know you have shared the call ID above. Just writing it again so that I can bring this to your attention to share the call ID again to avoid any chances of confusion.

@Shubham Bajaj I just had it happen again with an open ai model this time. Here's the call id: 97b1ed81-7203-4855-ab69-ed48a3c0809c
The call was about 8:15 am mountain time, and the bot said its end of call message but didn't end the call
It was using a vonage number, so it shouldn't be affected by the twilio outagge

when you add your current assistant config, i don't think it's configured to end the call using end call phrases or messages according to your Call ID. If you are looking to end the call after saying the last message as per the shared call ID, you have to add a prompt in your prompt as follows:
Say: "Thank you for calling Dirty Bones Soho. We look forward to hosting you soon." and trigger the endCall tool.
