Requesting room pin to begin Twilio

I have an assistant that is linked to a Twilio number that I've imported myself. Whenever calling this assistant, it requests the room pin to begin. If I'm not mistaken, this is actually a Twilio message that I'm hearing. Is there something I need to configure on Twilio or on my VAPI account to prevent this from happening and use this number for inbound calls? I don't have a call ID to share as it doesn't appear these calls are reaching Vapi

Hi there! 👋 I understand you're having an issue with your Twilio number requesting a room pin when calling your assistant. I can see that the calls aren't reaching VAPI, which suggests there's a configuration issue between Twilio and VAPI. Let me help you troubleshoot this! The most likely cause is that your Twilio webhook settings aren't correctly configured to route calls to VAPI. Here are some steps you can take to fix this: 1. **Check your Twilio webhook configuration**: According to [troubleshooting information](https://discord.com/channels/1211482211119796234/1211483291191083018/threads/1343208312249913397), you should ensure that the webhook URL in Twilio for incoming calls is correctly pointing to the VAPI endpoint. 2. **Update your Twilio voice settings**: In your Twilio dashboard, go to the Phone Numbers section, find your imported number, and under the Voice Configuration section, set "A Call Comes In" to "Webhook" and the URL to
https://api.vapi.ai/twilio/inbound_call
. This solution has [helped others with similar issues](https://discord.com/channels/1211482211119796234/1211483291191083018/threads/1343632206958166096). 3. **Review your Twilio number settings**: [Double-check](https://discord.com/channels/1211482211119796234/1211483291191083018/threads/1332470088078590023) that there are no forwarding rules or configurations that might be causing the calls to be redirected. 4. **Verify VAPI configuration**: Make sure that [VAPI is correctly set up](https://discord.com/channels/1211482211119796234/1211483291191083018/threads/1332470088078590023) to handle incoming calls from Twilio and that you have an assistant associated with your phone number. 5. **Check for hardcoded numbers**: Ensure there are no [hardcoded numbers](https://discord.com/channels/1211482211119796234/1211483291191083018/threads/1332470088078590023) in your application code or Twilio's TwiML Bin that might be causing redirection.
If you're comfortable with XML, you can also set up a TwiML response to properly redirect calls to VAPI:
Copy code
xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<Response>
    <Redirect method="POST">https://api.vapi.ai/twilio/inbound_call</Redirect>
</Response>
Is there anything specific about your setup that you'd like me to help with further?
