Hi there, I trying to set up a call transfer tool to a SIP URI, but calls end unexpectedly. Call IDs examples: e1f01363-2a4e-4cb0-8bb3-4d6c0ae14ac7 07503415-89c9-41af-a847-18495161e65c Assistant: af485996-8134-4ee4-a023-6e02a3b4d2d1 Can you please help?

Thanks for sharing the details and the Call IDs. At the moment, I don't have specific information available to help diagnose why the calls are ending unexpectedly when transferring to a SIP URI. If you have any additional details about your setup or the steps leading up to the issue, feel free to share them, and I'll do my best to assist further.

@Dan OS What do you mean "transfer to SIP URI"? Can you please show the tool you created ?
Assuming you are using a
SIP Refer
and providing a SIP URI to refer to - that will automatically be rejected, as the call origin needs to support 'Foreign Domain Refer' - and no carrier in their right mind will allow anything like that to be.

Hi @Nir Simionovich (CEO@Cloudonix) , I just want to transfer the call to my Voip provider's SIP , they gave me a test one sip:9010@testing-pbx.squaretalk.com:5744 , I don't know what SIP Refer is, I assumed it shouldn't be that complicated to transfer a call from AI assistant to squaretalk's SIP where my live agents extension will ring.
@Sahil ?

Sorry to say, I always say that telephony isn't a skill, it's a vocation - you need to invest yourself into it. I've been doing telephony and telecoms for 25 years now - and every week I learn something new.

Hey! To help track down this issue, could you share: - When exactly this happened (the timestamp) - What response you expected to get - What response you actually got instead This would really help us figure out what went wrong!

@Shubham Bajaj , on every attempt withing my organisation to try to transfer the call, org id 826a34d2-a357-4e36-8b02-06a04aaec769 , we cannot make it work, we don't understand what we are doing wrong or how we suppose to set this. I expect to the call to be transfered/connected to sip:9010@testing-pbx.squaretalk.com:5744 , but from discussing with Squaretalk they didn't see any call attempt reaching their logs.

@Dan OS VAPI transfer will only accept phone numbers, not SIP URIs as far as I know.

@Nir Simionovich (CEO@Cloudonix) well, i could ask from Squaretalk any DID that has incoming calls and use it then ?
n
In general, yes
but of course, that will carry "outbound per minute call charges" on top of your normal AI usage bill
If you use something like Cloudonix in the middle, you can avoid those outbound call charges, as you can do a pure-IP connection via Cloudonix
and Cloudonix doesn't charge per-minute charges
