We're currently integrating VAPI into our platform and have a question regarding compliance with strict German and EU data protection regulations. Specifically, no data—including call content, transcripts, summaries, or metadata—may be stored on VAPI’s servers or any non-EU infrastructure. All data must remain stored exclusively on our own server located in Germany.
We’ve noticed that VAPI offers cloud storage options for call recordings. Can you please clarify the following:
Does this cloud storage also include transcripts, summaries, or any derived metadata, or are those handled separately?
Is there an option to disable all cloud storage features entirely, ensuring that no data (including transcripts or summaries) is stored or processed outside of our infrastructure?
Does VAPI offer an on-premise or self-hosted deployment model to help us ensure full compliance with data residency requirements?
If yes, could you provide documentation or configuration guidelines for such a setup?
We’re very interested in continuing with VAPI, but we must ensure full compliance with our local data protection obligations.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Best regards,
