Hi team, we are creating agents via API. I have a use case in which we have location_name stored in a KB. I'd like the agent to use this location_name in the first message via dynamic variable or otherwise. Is this possible? I've tried the following: - set {{location_name}} in first message: Agent says "I'm 's receptionist" - make agent call tool at start of conversation with first message in system prompt: Agent says "I' 's receptionist" but only after caller speaks first -added the kb directly under Model.Files Is this possible? Or does the message need to be hard coded upon agent creation via API? TIA

Dynamic variables like {{location_name}} can be used in the agent’s first message only if you pass their values at call time via assistantOverrides.variableValues; KB content won’t auto-fill them, and tools like FileSearch can’t run before the first message..

Auto-injecting KB values into the first message isn’t currently supported, and while dynamic variables work if passed at call time..
