Not able to Connect with GoHighLevel
v
Thanks for reaching out! Could you please let me know at which step you are facing the connection issue with GoHighLevel (for example, during authorization, entering credentials, or after clicking "Connect")? @Vapi Support Bot When trying to connect MCP of GHL it's going through all steps and redirect back to integration (Seems like Success) but still it doesn't link
v
It looks like GoHighLevel should be connected directly in Vapi, not via MCP. Please try this: 1. Go to Vapi Dashboard → Providers Keys → Tools Provider → GoHighLevel 2. Click Connect and complete the authorization popup. If the issue persists, double-check that you are not using the MCP integration for GoHighLevel, as it's not supported for this tool ([see docs](https://docs.vapi.ai/tools/go-high-level)). @Vapi Support Bot did the same
v
Thanks for confirming you followed the direct connection steps. After you complete the GoHighLevel authorization in Vapi, do you see any error messages or does the integration simply not appear as connected in your dashboard? This will help us pinpoint where the issue is occurring. Source: - [GoHighLevel Integration Documentation](https://docs.vapi.ai/tools/go-high-level)

@Vapi Support Bot Nothing shows
v
Try this quick check: Go to your Vapi Dashboard and navigate to
Observe > API Logs
. Look for any recent GoHighLevel connection attempts and check for authentication errors or failed requests. This will help pinpoint where the integration is failing and provide error details you can share for further support. Tip: Reviewing these logs often reveals missing permissions or misconfigurations that prevent the integration from appearing as connected. For more details, see the [debugging guide](https://docs.vapi.ai/debugging). Source: - [Debugging voice agents](https://docs.vapi.ai/debugging)

@Vapi Support Bot I double checked, Nothing shown in logs.
v
Thanks for checking the API logs. Since nothing appears there, could you please let me know which browser and operating system you are using when attempting the GoHighLevel connection? This will help us identify if the issue might be related to your environment or a UI problem. If possible, also check your browser’s developer console (press F12 or Cmd+Option+I) for any error messages during the connection attempt, but for now, just let me know your browser and OS. I have the same issue and it's happening for days
@User I tried integrating GHL with VAPI using the private integration key and the correct contact and calendar permissions. However, the logs show that it’s attempting to use the GHL MCP integration instead, which we can’t connect due to an existing issue. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1446583776930173090/1446613678618316893/image.png?ex=69349f79&is=69334df9&hm=881bedb92f79c2ea9dd5ae233890744546da15869603fe5ee8174b463c039fe2&

But you have connected GoHighLevel, How did you got the API. GHL is not giving that tho
@Vapi Support Bot any solution?
v
GoHighLevel does not provide a manual API key for Vapi integration. Instead, connect by going to your Vapi Dashboard → Providers Keys → Tools Provider → GoHighLevel, then click Connect and complete the OAuth authorization popup. If the integration still doesn't appear as connected, try using a different browser or clear your cache, as browser issues can sometimes block the OAuth flow. Hi everyone, to resolve the
GoHighLevelMCPCredential
error, please follow these steps: 1. Verify API Key Source: Ensure you are using the Location API Key from your GoHighLevel sub-account’s "Business Info" section. 2. Check Key Type: Do not use a Private Integration Token (PIT) or the key from "My Profile". The error occurs because the system expects a Location API Key but is receiving a different token type. 3. Input & Save: Enter this specific Location API Key into the "API Key" field in your Vapi Integrations settings and click Save. This will correct the authentication method and resolve the error.
Hi everyone, this appears to be a known issue affecting several users due to recent changes on GoHighLevel's end regarding API key capabilities. 1. Known Issue: The removal of the location-based API method by GoHighLevel has likely affected authentication through MCP and API keys. 2. Status Update: Our team is aware of the issue and is working on resolving any complications arising from the change in GoHighLevel's authentication setup. 3. Workaround: Currently, you can explore using third-party integration tools like [Make.com](http://Make.com) or n8n.io until the direct MCP link is restored. These services allow for connecting and managing API interactions through workflows. 4. Next Steps: Make sure to regularly check our GoHighLevel integration guide for updates. These steps should assist in managing the current challenges until a permanent fix is available.
