Tool Waiting Message: Whispering
# support

The tool waiting message sounded like it was being whispered (instead of normal volume). This happens across some calls which led me to believe it was cached. Is there a way for us to clear this cache? Call ID: 019c77f1-3d96-755e-acce-dfd91fb4c3d7 Timestamp: 00:47-00:53 (when calling the tool) Expected: Say the "just a second" in a loud voice Curren Behavior: Say the "just a second" in a whispered voice

Thank you for sharing the details and clarifying the issue with the whispered tool waiting message. Based on the information I have found, I do not have any details about a cache-clearing method for this specific scenario. If you have already reported the issue as described, that's a great step. If you have any other questions or need further assistance with Vapi features or troubleshooting, feel free to ask!

Hi, The issue appears to be specific to very short phrases when using Deepgram Aura-2. Extremely short utterances like “Just a second.” or “Give me a moment.” are more prone to inconsistent volume. Recommended Option: Use slightly longer filler messages instead. In this same call, the following worked perfectly: • “Sure, just checking now.” • “One moment please.” • “I'm just pulling up the details.” Alternative Option: You may also switch your primary TTS provider to ElevenLabs (with Deepgram as fallback). ElevenLabs generally handles short utterances more consistently. Bottom line: this appears to have been a one-time TTS generation issue that was cached. The cache has now expired, and audio playback is currently normal.
