Couldn't Get assistant Inbound Calls
# support

Hey guys, my assistant was working just fine but recently I've encountered this error when I dial the number that the agent is assigned to (inbound calls) . I've saw other tickets mentioning this but didn't find a solution. Couldn't Get Assistant. Either Set The Assistant I D On The Phone Number. Or, To Debug Your Assistant Request, Check The Debugging Artifacts That Were Just Sent To Your Server. I have checked every log, and even compared the request from when the inbound calls where working and can't really understand the reason this is not working The outbound calls are working, but the failed inbound calls doesn't even appear on the VAPI logs. I'm not sending any json, the bot is static with vapi. The assistant is correctly assigned to the correct phone number OutBound calls webhook is working just fine Any help? Thanks

@bh0ap Hello! I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing issues with inbound calls on your assistant. It seems like there might be a configuration issue or a temporary service disruption. Since you've mentioned that the assistant is correctly assigned and outbound calls are working, let's try to troubleshoot the problem step by step: 1. Double-check the assistant ID is correctly set for the phone number in question. Even if it was working before, it's worth verifying again in case of any changes or updates that might have affected the settings. 2. Review any recent changes to your VAPI configuration or related services that might have coincided with the onset of the issue. 3. Ensure there are no network issues or disruptions that could be affecting the inbound call functionality. 4. If possible, test the inbound call feature with a different phone number or assistant to see if the problem is isolated to a specific configuration. If after these steps the issue persists, it might be necessary to look deeper into the system logs or contact support for a more detailed investigation. Since the failed inbound calls are not appearing in the VAPI logs, there could be an issue with the logging mechanism itself or the calls might be getting dropped before reaching the VAPI. Would you like me to assist you with any specific checks or actions from the above suggestions?

1. I double checked it's there 2. Can't find anything related to this 3. N/A 4. I've tested it with other assistants in Vapi and the error persists

Check your server url
we send a request over there
b
Should server url be the webhook in vapi options and in the assistant advanced settings be the same one?
v
@bh0ap Yes, the server URL in the VAPI options and the webhook URL in the assistant's advanced settings should typically be the same. This ensures that when an inbound call is received, VAPI knows where to send the request to trigger the assistant's behavior. If you're experiencing issues with inbound calls and the server URL is correctly set, it's possible there might be a problem with the server's ability to handle incoming requests, or there could be an issue with the routing of those requests. Please ensure that: - The server URL is accessible from the public internet. - The server is correctly processing GET and POST requests from VAPI. - There are no firewalls or network configurations blocking the incoming requests. If you've verified all of the above and the issue persists, it might be helpful to check the server logs to see if the requests are reaching your server and if there are any errors in processing them. If you need further assistance, please let me know, and I can help guide you through additional troubleshooting steps.

I did already check it, even created new server url with new webhook for testing but still cannot fix the inbound calling. Not even evolving server url, only static assistant inbound calls do not work
Could it be because I imported this twilio number a couple of times?

@bh0ap checking is this resolved right?
b
It's not, lemme recheck
@Shubham Bajaj the issue persists
s
@bh0ap share the phone number id pls.
b
Yes @Shubham Bajaj , here it is df660a34-cac9-4c08-acc1-7723920008b8
s
@bh0ap you have an assistant assigned to your number, and if still not working for you. assign server url to your number and you will get debugging artifcats, with that you can make it work.
b
@Shubham Bajaj could we scheledue a call? There is no debugging artifacts in Vapi for inbound calls with or without assistant only in Twilio for me. And I've tried to call the number with and without server url and assistant
The problem is not solved ...
s
@bh0ap that's not possible I will be avialble for call tomorrow.
b
Just added you, lemme know your availibility tomorrow
