Outbound Phone number

Hi, I successfully purchased a phone number from Twilio and I already imported it to VAPI. However, the project should be an outbound caller. The VAPI automatically imported the number as Inbound and when I filled out the Outbound number by the same phone number, it vanished after refreshing the webpage.

@Gelo Hello! I'm glad to hear you've successfully imported your phone number into VAPI. It seems there might be a small issue with setting the number for outbound calls. To assist you better, could you please confirm if you've saved the configuration after setting the phone number for outbound calls? Sometimes, changes might not be retained if they're not saved properly before refreshing the page. If you've already done this and the issue persists, I can help guide you through the process again or look into the issue further for you.
You can continue this conversation by mentioning me in the message.

where is the save button
where is the save button @Vapi

@Gelo I apologize for any confusion. Typically, after you input the phone number for outbound calls, there should be a save or submit button on the same page that allows you to confirm and save your changes. If you're not seeing this button, it could be a user interface issue or it might be located in a different section of the settings. Please look for a button or link that might say "Save", "Submit", "Confirm", or "Apply". It's often located at the bottom or top-right corner of the settings or configuration page. If you still can't find it, it might be helpful to check the documentation for the specific page you're on, as it could provide guidance on how to save your settings. If the problem persists and you're unable to locate the save option, please ask support for more info on this. They will be able to guide you through the process or resolve any potential issues with the user interface.
g
under the outbound form, it shows a button "Outbound Call", is that it? @Vapi
v
@Gelo The "Outbound Call" button you're seeing under the outbound form is likely the button you use to initiate an outbound call using the number you've set up. It's not the button to save the configuration of your outbound number. If you're not seeing a specific save button, the configuration might be designed to auto-save upon entering the number, or there might be a step missing in the process. Please double-check the form for any messages or prompts that might indicate the number has been saved or if there are additional steps required. If everything seems correct and the number still disappears after a refresh, there might be a technical issue that needs to be addressed by the support team. In that case, please reach out to VAPI support for further assistance. They can provide more detailed instructions or help troubleshoot the issue.

I already checked the information and I cant seem to find the save button @Vapi @VAPI Tech
v
@Gelo I understand that the absence of a clear save button can be confusing. It's possible that the interface is designed to automatically save your settings when you enter them, but if the phone number is vanishing after a refresh, this might not be the case. Since the expected behavior is not occurring, I recommend reaching out to VAPI support for further assistance. They can provide specific guidance for your situation and help ensure that your outbound number is configured correctly. They may also be able to identify and resolve any potential bugs or user interface issues. Would you like me to guide you on how to contact VAPI support, or is there anything else I can assist you with at this moment?
g
yes
yes @Vapi
v
@Gelo Great! To contact VAPI support, you can typically do so through the following methods: 1. **Support Ticket**: Submit a support ticket through your VAPI dashboard. There should be a section for support or help where you can describe your issue and submit a request for assistance. 2. **Email**: Send an email to the support email address provided by VAPI. Make sure to include details about your issue, your account information, and any relevant screenshots. 3. **Live Chat**: If VAPI offers a live chat feature, you can use it to talk directly with a support representative. Look for a chat icon on the dashboard or in the support section. 4. **Phone Support**: If phone support is available, you can call the support number provided by VAPI for direct assistance. Before reaching out, it's helpful to have your account information ready, as well as a clear description of the problem and any steps you've already taken to try to resolve it. If you need further assistance or have any other questions, feel free to ask. I'm here to help!

@Gelo Could you record a Loom video of the issue you're facing and describe it as well in the video?

@Shubham Bajaj based on this, i cant find the save button of the phone number and whenever i refresh it, it vanishes https://www.loom.com/share/2e2545889d544ac498700363c520aee9?sid=00933775-223c-4834-b632-e37570342827

@Gelo The outbound phone number field is supposed to have dynamic numbers instead of fixed numbers that you can make calls to, so there is no save button. The inbound number is static. I hope this clarifies any doubts.
m
@Gelo , were you able to resolve this? I am also having the same issue
