Trying to connect Vapi with Plivo as Plivo offers a cheap Indian virtual number. Remember it is an Indian virtual number so I want to connect it with Vapi. Is it possible or not? I only want to use Vapi and Plivo, no other things. Someone please help me with this. Have been trying for a month.

Indian virtual numbers, but the main issue is usually around SIP/trunk setup and India telecom routing restrictions. Most people get stuck on inbound call config or webhook mapping between both platforms. I’ve helped set this up before using only Vapi + Plivo without extra providers. What error or exact issue are you currently hitting inbound calls, outbound calls, SIP registration, or number verification? @Avacadon

I still haven't gotten a Plivo Indian Virtual Number because even if I had to do this I'm damn scared I will lose my money off of it. If I just buy an India Virtual Number and I can't connect it for Vapi it will just go to waste. Also I've approached a business and they said they want it from me so I have no idea how to do this. Please help me with this. So can we connect the Indian number to Vapi? I'm totally confused right now. I know that we can do it for Bolna but for Vapi I have no idea.

Hi, I understand you have been working on this for a month, but I must provide a definitive answer: No, it is not possible to connect an Indian virtual number from Plivo to Vapi.
This is a hard limitation due to TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) regulations. These laws require that SIP termination for Indian phone numbers must occur on servers physically located within India. Because Vapi’s infrastructure is currently hosted on global servers outside of India, we cannot legally or technically terminate those calls.
If you must use an Indian number, the only way to integrate with Vapi's AI is via a custom WebSocket bridge (streaming the audio from an Indian carrier to Vapi via a middleware server), which is a much more complex setup. A direct Vapi-to-Plivo connection for Indian numbers is strictly unsupported at this time.
I hope this helps you avoid spending more time on an architecture that the regulations currently block.
